Draft PPS 21 sets out Planning Policies for Development in the Countryside.
These policies should, as indicated in the Ministerial Statement made on the 25 November 2008, be accorded substantial weight in the determination of any planning application received after 16 March 2006.  The Ministerial Statement also advises that draft PPS14 and accompanying Ministerial Statement issued by Arlene Foster in October 2007 are withdrawn.

The Ministerial Statement and draft PPS 21 can be obtained by telephoning (028) 9025 7374, textphone at (028) 9054 0642, email form or by writing to the above address.  Hard copies will shortly be available from local planning offices.  
Should you require a copy of draft PPS 21 in an alternative format, it can be made available on request in large print, disc, Braille or audiocassette.  It may also be made available in minority languages for those who are not proficient in English.
At the end of the consultation period all the comments received will be carefully considered.  The Executive Subcommittee charged with overseeing the review of rural planning policy will then appraise the outcome of the consultation process and consider whether amendments to the document are required.
