Draft PPS18: Renewable Energy
Annex 1 Energy from Waste (Thermal Processes) Planning Issues: Dust
Excluding particulates from stacks, most dust is created during waste processing and ash handling operations. Practical measures for dust control include minimising, or eliminating, open-air storage, water sprinkling and transportation within covered skips or lorries. Emission levels are regulated through the Department’s Environment and Heritage Service (EHS) or the terms of a site’s Waste Management Licence.
