Supplementary Planning Guidance - Policy PED 8: 'Development Incompatible with Economic Development Uses'
The Department of the Environment has published the final version of Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) to Policy PED 8 ‘Development Incompatible with Economic Development Uses’ of Planning Policy Statement 4 (PPS 4) ‘Planning and Economic Development’. This follows consultation on the draft SPG published in March 2012.
The SPG provides clarification on Policy PED 8 and reinforces the policy message ensuring that operations of established industrial enterprises requiring a contaminant free environment are protected, thereby securing their valuable contribution to the economy.
