Additional Issues

During the preparation of the Subject Plan, representations were received from the public and various representatives about issues surrounding HMOs that were not solely responsibility of Planning Service or outside the Department’s legislative framework. These included:
  • Joint Working;
  • An Inter Agency Design Guide for HMOs;
  • Parking Initiatives;
  • Public Transport Improvements;
  • Noise Control;
  • Building Control – Definition of HMO;
  • “To Let” Signage;
  • Area Amenity and Management;
  • Community Safety;
  • Gating of Alleyways;
  • HMO Registration; and.
Many of these issues are considered to be of relevance to other agencies and bodies. The Inter Agency-Strategic Group agreed to consider these issues and produced a Progress Report with further recommendations
