Craigavon Town Centre Boundaries and Retail Designations Plan 2010
Preamble: Assessment under Article 6 of the European Habitats Directive
Article 6 of the European Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC states that any plan or project likely to have a significant effect on a Natura 2000 site shall be subject to assessment of it’s implications for the site in view of the site’s conservation objectives. Accordingly, the Draft Plan proposals and the PAC recommendations, both individually and in combination with the proposals contained in the Craigavon Area Plan 2010 have been subjected to a Test of Likely Significance (TOLS) in relation to two Natura 2000 sites, namely Lough Neagh & Lough Beg Special Protection Area (SPA) and Lough Neagh & Lough Beg Ramsar Site.
The TOLS has confirmed that there is no likely significant impact on either of the sites and that it is not, therefore, necessary to carry out an Appropriate Assessment.
A “Statement of No Likely Significant Effects” in accordance with Regulation 64B of The Conservation (Natural Habitats, etc.)(Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) is published as a supplementary document to the Adopted Plan.
