The Planning (Application of Subordinate Legislation to the Crown) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.R. 2006 No. 218)
This Order applies planning subordinate legislation to the Crown with appropriate modifications where necessary. The legislation can be found on the OPSI website at: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/sr/sr2006/20060218.htm
It includes new permitted development rights for Crown bodies to enable them to pursue their everyday functions without being unnecessarily encumbered by the planning system. It also aims to eliminate duplication of processes relating to environmental impact assessment where the Crown body in question has Environmental Impact Assessment regulations that apply to its own statutory processes or consents.
The Application of Subordinate Legislation to the Crown Order was made on 15 May 2006 under the powers conferred by Article 24 of the Planning Reform Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.I. 2006/1252 (N.I.7) and comes into operation on 10 June 2006.
