Armagh Area Plan 2018: Issues Paper
Published on Wed, 7 Jul 2004
The purpose of the Issues Paper is to inform interested parties and individuals of the matters that may have a direct effect on the Plan area.
Following the publication of a press notice stating the Department's intention to prepare a new development plan for the Armagh City and District Council Area, the Armagh Area Plan 2018 has moved onto its next stage: the publication of an Issues Paper and the commencement of Public and Community consultation.
The purpose of the Issues Paper is to inform interested parties and individuals of the matters that may have a direct effect on the Plan area and which can be dealt with in the Draft Area Plan.
The aim of the consultation is to provide an opportunity for people to influence the nature, scale and location of land uses within the different parts of the Plan area.
As part on the ongoing Plan process, Planning Service has published a Summary Report on Strategic Topic Research. The purpose of this report is to set out the initial findings of the research that informed the preparation of the Armagh Area Plan 2018 Issues Paper. It is also intended that the Summary Report will be used to inform and facilitate meaningful Public and Community consultations on the Issues Paper.
Whilst all research has been taken into account in the preparation of Issues Paper, it should be recognised that some aspects of research are more directly relevant than others.
Community Technical Aid (CTA) http://www.communitytechnicalaid.org were commissioned to independently organise and facilitate extensive Public and Community consultation on the Issues Paper for the Armagh Area Plan. The Department has published a report submitted to it by CTA of the views expressed during the Public and Community consultation.
All views and comments expressed during the consultation exercise will be considered and addressed by the Planning Service in the preparation of the Draft Armagh Area Plan 2018.
