The Department of the Environment has today issued a consultation paper on its proposals for amending the Department’s Direction on Demolition and Development and the introduction of permitted development rights for the Demolition of Buildings.
The purpose of the consultation is to obtain views on the specific amendments described within the paper. The proposed amendments are designed to ensure that the Department fully complies with the requirements of the European Directive on environmental impact assessment in relation to planning control over the demolition of buildings. Comments on the Equality Impact Assessment Screening document and Preliminary Regulatory Impact Assessment which are contained in the paper are also welcome.
The closing date for the receipt of comments is 6th April 2012.
