Our role in Planning

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) undertakes a range of activities that promote a sustainable economy, environment and rural community.
DAERA has a role in development planning, and in responding to consultations relating to individual development proposals.  As a statutory consultee in the planning process we provide advice on environment, marine and fisheries interests.
