|Location||In the townlands of Ballycoos, Ballygawn, Ballygilbert, Lisnahay North and Lisnahay South and is approximately 3km North west of the village of Carncastle, Larne, Co Antrim|
|Proposal||A proposed wind farm development comprising up to 14 three bladed horizontal axis wind turbines, each up to a maximum of 149.9 to tip height, with a total installed capacity of up to 50.4MW, associated external electricity transformers; underground cabling; an upgraded site entrance; access tracks; turning heads; crane hardstandings; control building and substation compound, a number of off-site areas of widening to the public road. During construction and commissioning there would be a number of temporary works including a construction compound with car parking, an enabling works compound, temporary parts of a crane hardstandings, welfare facilities and temporary guyed meteorological masts.|
The Department has received a number of representations in respect of the above Proposal of Application Notice (PAN). The Department is unable to accept any representation on this proposal in advance of the submission of a full planning application.
Under the Planning Act (NI) 2011, the prospective applicant must give notice to the Department that an application for planning permission for the windfarm development is to be submitted and allow a period of at least 12 weeks between giving the notice and submitting any such application. During this time, a community consultation must be carried out.
Any representations should be lodged to the developer at this stage and until a full planning application is received.
