Background

Merville Conservation AreaMerville Garden Village was the first of a new type of residential development to be built in Northern Ireland.
Formulated on the principle that good design could provide a modern suburban estate that still retained the advantages of a rural environment, Merville remains virtually as it was built in 1949, a unique environment which, to this day, is valued and cherished by its residents.
