Background
The Cyprus Avenue area exhibits a very high standard of townscape character with many period Victoria and Edwardian properties contributing to the special quality of this suburban setting.
The Cyprus Avenue Area of Townscape Character (ATC) was declared in October 1992.
Following consultation with the Belfast City Council and the Historic Buildings Council the Department has now decided to designate this ATC as a Conservation Area in recognition of the special townscape merits of the area.
