Ballymoney Conservation Area
Location: Co. Antrim
Designation date: 14 November 1994
Designation date: 14 November 1994
Background
|
Most of the historic core of Ballymoney has been included within the Conservation Area, recognising that although in the past 30 years many superficial alterations to facades and signage have been carried out often in an insensitive manner, the essential rhythm, scale, and proportions of the buildings are largely intact. Therefore the Conservation Area has been extended beyond Charlotte Street and includes a substantial part of the other three streets (High Street, Church Street and Main Street) in the historic core of the town radiating from the diamond.
