2.20 The Historic Buildings Council Opens link in a new browser window is a statutory body appointed to advise the Department on the general state of preservation of listed buildings in Northern Ireland. It is also consulted on any amendments made to the list of buildings of special architectural or historic interest and advises the Department on the designation of conservation areas.
