Draft PPS 2 (Revised) Natural Heritage sets out updated planning policy for the protection and conservation of our natural heritage.
Draft PPS 2 (revised) furthers the Executive's committment to sustainable development and to conserving and where possible enhancing and restoring our natural heritage.
The policy is accompanied by Draft Supplementary Planning Gudiance that provides background information and guidance on relevent natural heritage legislation.  Information on the consideration of developments within the development management process is also included.  The SPG will be taken into account in assessing development proposals.
In tandem with this consultation an equality impact screening exercise is also being issued for public consultation as an Annex to the Draft PPS.

How to give your views

The Department would welcome your comments on the draft PPS, its accompanying supplementary guidance and the equality impact screening exercise.
Comments should reflect the structure of the documents as much as possible with references to policy and paragraph numbers where relevant.  In particular, we welcome your comments or suggestions on the consultation questions contained within the document.
