Strategic Plan Framework: Settlements Target Sites

The Plan also identifies, for information, smaller derelict sites and gap sites as Target Sites primarily, in the main town centres, where appropriate development including redevelopment that would improve the appearance and functioning of town centres will be permitted. This will contribute to the vitality and viability of existing centres. The design of new development will be required to relate to that of neighbouring buildings where these represent a good quality streetscape. Development proposals on these sites will be assessed against the relevant policies in the Plan and other prevailing regional policies.
