Settlement Designation
Ballytober is located approximately 3 kilometres to the south west of Bushmills. It extends primarily along the B17 Coleraine to Bushmills Road, with the school acting as its focal point. Ballytober is designated a Hamlet in the Settlement Hierarchy in Volume 1 of the Plan.

The development limit is tightly drawn around the existing hamlet. Due to its limited range of facilities and services only modest development opportunities are included. Any development will be required to be in character, in terms of density, height and design, with the existing built form.
