Whilst this plan remains a statutory instrument for its particular plan area, new development plans covering the North Down and the Ards areas have been prepared. For North Down there is the Belfast Metropolitan Area Plan 2015, published in draft form in November 2004, and, for the Ards area there is the Ards & Down Area Plan 2015, published in draft form in December 2001.
