Introduction: A Planning Strategy for Rural Northern Ireland

A Planning Strategy for Rural Northern Ireland (PSRNI) was published in September 1993. Whilst it contains a number of strategic policies, PSRNI consists of a compendium of planning policies setting out the factors that the Department takes into account when dealing with development proposals. It is applicable to the Plan Area.

The PSRNI is gradually being replaced by PPSs but will, where still applicable, remain a material consideration until it is completely superseded.
