Portadown man fined £5,000 for planning offence

Mr Malcolm Samuel Hall, with an address at 92 Plantation Road, Portadown, pleaded guilty to the demolition of a Listed Building and was fined £5,000 plus £75 solicitors costs and £34 court costs at Newry Magistrates court today.
The prosecution was brought against Mr Hall for the unauthorised demolition of a Listed Building at 44 Dundalk Street, Newtownhamilton, on 17 March 2009.

Mr Hall was prosecuted under Article 44 of the Planning (NI) Order 1991, as amended, as it is an offence to carry out any works for the demolition of a listed building, without the necessary consent.
