The Minister said: "When I met with the Mayors and Chairmen of all 26 district councils at Parliament Buildings in October, I indicated that I was looking forward to meeting them more formally to discuss issues of local concern. This programme of contact with all councils is now well underway.
"I greatly appreciated having had the opportunity today to hear at first hand about the key issues affecting the councils and can assure their representatives that I will be treating the points they made very seriously."
