Published on Tue, 2 Oct 2001
Sam Foster MLA, Minister of the Environment, launched the second edition of the Building Control Directory today in Craigavon.
Mr Foster said: "The public demands that buildings are structurally sound, safe from fire, and environmentally friendly. They should also be healthy and comfortable to live and work in.
"Building Control officers provide a professional service and have earned the respect and co-operation of those engaged in the construction industry. As dedicated council officials, these officers provide an impartial, responsible and necessary service in ensuring that building standards are not compromised."
The Minister praised the Directory for its clarity and user-friendly appeal, adding that it reflected customer care and transparency within the Building Control service.
