Crumlin woman fined £22,000 for planning offence

Mrs Carolyn Leonora Thompson of Killead Road, Crumlin was fined £22,000 plus £75 solicitors costs and £10 court costs at Larne Magistrates' Court today after pleading guilty to non compliance with a DOE Planning Enforcement Notice.
Mrs Thompson was charged with the unauthorised use of the land for the parking of vehicles at Killead Air Lodge, Killead Road, Crumlin.

Mrs Thompson was convicted under Article 72 of the Planning (NI) Order 1991, as amended, as it is an offence to be in breach of an enforcement notice.

A breach of a notice occurs where, at any time after the period for compliance has lapsed, any step required to be taken has not been taken.
