Man fined £30,000 for operating unauthorised airport car park

David Thompson (47), of killead Road, Crumlin, was convicted at Antrim Magistrates' Court today for operating an unauthorised car park at Aldergrove Airport.
Mr Thompson pleaded guilty to the ongoing offence and was fined the maximum amount allowed by the court of £30,000 plus costs.  He was given leave to appeal amount of fine to County court on the basis of £500 bail.
The Planning Service brought the action under Article 72 of the PLanning (NI) Order 1991 (as amended).
