Two New Statutory Rules made by the Department: New Planning Legislation

The Department has recently made 2 new Statutory Rules.

The Planning Reform (2006 Order) (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.R.2006 No.222 (C.12))

This statutory rule was made on 17 May 2006 under Article 1(3) of the Planning Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2006, brought Article 15 (procedure of planning appeals commission) of the Planning Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 into operation on 18 May 2006. The Planning (General Development) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 (S.R.2006 No. 219)

This statutory rule was made on 15 May 2006 under Article 67B(5) of the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (compensation for loss due to temporary stop notice). Article 67B was introduced by Article 13 of the Planning Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
The purpose of this Statutory Rule is to amend Article 17 of the Planning (General Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993 to include a provision dealing with compensation for loss due to temporary stop notices and will come into operation on 10 June 2006.
