Information Leaflet No. 15; Conservation Areas in Northern Ireland

The leaflet explains the important of Conservation Areas and the legal framework leading to their designation.  It provides information on the main policy considerations which are taken into account when the Planning Service determines applications for development within such areas and, in so doing, sets out the implications of Conservation Area designation for property owners and developers/investors.  It also provides informaiton and advice on the advantages of designation and how we all can play a part in ensuring that our Conservation Areas are preserved and enhanced for the benefit of future generations.
