Farmers: New farm buildings and extensions to farm buildings
If you are intending to construct a new building associated with your farm or an extension to existing farm building(s) you should first consider whether or not planning permission is required.
The provisions for agricultural permitted development are set out in the Part 6 of Schedule 1 to the Planning (General Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993. 'Agricultural Buildings and Operations.'
Further provisions in relation to building or excavations associated with the storage of slurry and manure, either separately or in association with livestock, are set out in the Planning (General Development) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005.
