Human Resources

The Human Resources Unit based in Planning Service Headquarters is responsible for the following broad areas of work:

Personnel Unit

The Personnel Unit has primary responsibility for developing implementing and monitoring the Agency’s Human Resources Strategy.
It also deals with staffing matters delegated from the Core of the Department including casual recruitment, career development, succession and manpower planning, internal transfers and promotion, management of short term absence and inefficiency procedures up to informal warnings.
Other functions include Health & Safety policy and training and acquisition of accommodation and Equal Opportunity issues. In addition the unit considers and approves maternity/paternity/special leave, career break, job-sharing and, part-time/term time working applications.

Training Unit

The Training Unit is responsible for developing implementing and evaluating the Agency’s annual Training Plan. This includes ensuring the strategic training aims of the Agency are met as well as the individual development of staff.
This section includes two dedicated training staff who prepare and deliver a wide range of essential training events to staff across the Agency, both P&T and Admin.

Facilities Management Unit

The Facilities Management Unit is responsible for all premises issues in Millennium House. They deal with a wide variety of issues such as Post Procedures, Health & Safety, Records Management & Waste Management.

Information Management Unit

The Information Management Unit based in Headquarters provides advice & assistance on Information legislation, involving Freedom of Information, EIR and data protection. The Unit also incorporates Records Management and the implementation of EDRMS (Electronic Data & Records Management).
