    Do I need permission for general improvements and repairs to my house?

In most circumstances you will not require permission, unless the work involves a considerable change to the outside appearance of your house.
 
 
    Do I need permission for internal alterations to my house?

You will not require permission, provided that the use as a house is not changed.
 
 
    Do I need permission for painting the exterior of my house?

You will not require permission, provided that the painting is not for the purpose of advertisement, announcement or direction.
 
 
    Do I need permission for cladding the outside of my house?

Yes you will require permission.
