Do I require
permission for
a wall or fence?
You will require permission if you live in a listed building.
However, if you don’t you can build a wall or fence up to 2 metres high anywhere on your property
except where it would adjoin a road. In this case the height is restricted to 1
metre (see Illustration 8).
Hedges are not subject to planning control if they do not encroach on land
cleared for visibility splays as part of a planning approval for an access.
If you live in an open plan/shared surface type of
development always consult your local planning office as there may be a
condition attached to the planning permission for the estate which would
override the above. |
