Inspection of Counter Objections

Planning Service published the above plan for public consultation between May and July 2005.  Over 5000 respondents submitted representations to the Draft Plan, These included objections to its various policies and proposals, objections to omissions from the plan, for example in terms of land to be identified for development and policies to cover matters not addressed in the Draft Plan.  Statements of support for aspects of the Plan were also recorded. 

The representations were placed on the Planning Service website to which the public were invited to inspect the original objections and submit written representations (known as ‘Counter Objections’) to them for an eight week period between March and May 2006.

Advice for searching

1. The Details Column provides the NAP number to which the Counter Objection refers.  It also provides some of the elements contained within the original objection and the author/agent of the relevant original NAP number.
2. Where the Details Column states ‘Please refer to document for full details’, numerous elements have been counter objected to and the document should be referred to.
3. Only counter objections to an original objection is a valid submission and has been recorded as a counter objection and is detailed in this schedule.
4. The statement ‘Invalid Statement’ refers to the following comments:
   1. the support of an original objection;
   2. an objection to an original letter of support.
