Update on Representations

The Craigavon Town Centre Boundaries and Retail Designations Plan 2010 is a development plan being prepared under Part III of the Planning (NI) Order 1991 by the Planning Service, an Agency within the Department of the Environment relating to the Central Craigavon, Lurgan and Portadown town centres.

The Draft Plan with its supporting documents was published on 20th December 2005 and made available for public inspection. The Department advised by public notice that representations could be submitted over an 8-week period ending on 14 February 2006. A total of 15 representations were received. In May, the Department published a further public notice which indicated that the representations were available for public inspection. This notice also invited representations about the objections over an 8-week period ending on 30th June 2006.

However, due to a flaw in the notification procedure at the Draft Plan publication stage, the Department re-advertised the Draft Plan and invited further representations over a new 8-week period which ended on 20th October 2006. Three additional representations were received.

Representations were made available for public inspection over the 8 week period from 10th November 2006 to 5th January 2007 for counter-objections to be submitted.

The Department has now updated the tables of representations in the Inspecting the Representations Page to only include those representations agreed to be valid objection or counter-objections.
