Killeenan Killeenan is located approximately eight kilometres west of Cookstown. St.Joseph’s Church, in a prominent location within the settlement, provides the main focal point for the scattering of dwellings in the area. Services and other facilities are limited. Local demand for housing within the village is likely to be low. The absence of a sewage treatment works is an overriding constraint on growth. Development will normally be restricted to single dwellings of an appropriate design in keeping with the existing character of the village. Part of the village and its environs fall within the Sperrin Area of Constraint on Mineral Developments (see Plan Policy MN 1). A Local Landscape Policy Area is designated along the small stream to the south of the settlement limit to protect nature conservation interests. Development will not normally be permitted in this area.
