Commencement of the 2-Stage Independent Examination into objections to the Draft Plan

Following the withdrawal of the Judicial Review into the Draft Banbridge/Newry & Mourne Area Plan's Strategic Environmental Assessment, the Planning Appeals Commission has now agreed to undertake an Independent Examination into objections to the Draft Plan. Stage One of the Examination relating to strategic topics will commence on Monday 17 August 2009 and continue thereafter as necessary.

The first pre-Examination meeting will take place in the Main Hall, Newry Town Hall, Bank Parade, Newry BT35 6HR at 6.30 pm on Wednesday 11 March 2009. The purpose of the meeting is to set out the main issues to be examined, to outline the procedures to be followed at the Examination and discuss programming. Objections will not be considered at this meeting.
