SETTLEMENT PROPOSALS

Crossnacreevy
 

 

The Settlement Development Limit is designated to consolidate the existing settlement form and to prevent further development along the 3 main roads. The Settlement Development Limit includes additional residential opportunities east of Ilford Park.

Housing

The following Housing site (CSY 02) is designated as a Housing land Use Policy Area ,as identified on Map No. 6a – Crossnacreevy. Details of all sites are contained in the Population and Housing Technical Supplement. The Plan stipulates Key Site Requirements for those sites over 0.5 hectares. Development of sites under 0.5 hectares will be subject to regional planning policy.

A combined sewer is located in Ilford Park, adjacent to the eastern boundary of the site. Access to this sewer may only be through private property.

Upgrading of the existing water supply infrastructure may be required. Detailed consultation with Water Service, DRD will be required.

Natural Environment

Local Landscape Policy Areas (LLPAs) The following LLPAs CSY 03 – CSY 04 are designated as identified on Map No. 6a – Crossnacreevy and clarification Map No. 6b – Crossnacreevy / Ryan Park Local Landscape Policy Area.

These LLPAs lie within and adjoining Crossnacreevy Village and are considered to be of greatest amenity value, landscape quality or local significance and should therefore be protected from undesirable or damaging development.

Policy for the control of development in the LLPAs is contained in Policy ENV 3 in Part 3, Volume 1 of the Plan.

Education

O’Neill Memorial School, Crossnacreevy has closed and an Education Creativity centre now occupies the site.
