The Department published the Draft Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) Subject Plan for Belfast City Council Area 2015 on 27 June 2006. Following publication of the Draft Plan, the Department invited representations over an 8 week period ending on 22 August 2006. The Department may decide to cause an independent examination to be held by the Planning Appeals Commission for the purpose of considering objections to the Draft Plan.
The Planning (Development Plans) (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2004, requires the Department to make copies of all objections to a development plan available for inspection.
Inspecting the representations
The representations may be inspected from 24 October 2006 to 19 December 2006 at the offices of the Belfast HMO Subject Plan Team, The Planning Service, 2nd Floor, Bedford House, 16-22 Bedford Street, Belfast BT2 7FD at the following times:
- 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and;
- 9.30am to 7.30pm Thursday 26 October 2006.
The representations can also be inspected online using the facilities below.
Making a representation about the objections
The Department is now inviting representations about objections to the Draft Plan which must be submitted, to the address below, in writing and received not later than 5.00pm on 19 December 2006.

Anyone making a representation about an objection may also ask to be notified of the Department’s decision in writing at such address as they specify. It should also be noted that such written representations will be available for public inspection and may be referred to at any forthcoming independent examination.
Representations concerning support for the Draft Plan are not being invited and cannot be considered at any forthcoming independent examination.
